After a final, day of recovery from both the horses and our week of illness, Felicia and I boarded the night train north to Oruro, with the hopes of making it to one of South Americas more dangerous cities, La Paz, tomorrow.

    You’d never no it’s dangerous from their website. They speak of stolling on white sand beaches, looking at cave paintings and “snorkeling with playful sea lions.”

    In their travel guide, they mention that you should “Bike the World’s Most Dangerous Road – claim your bragging rights, before it’s gone!”

    So, let us know what we should worry about, besides food poisoning a bow legs, and whether you two are going to bike along the “dangerous road.” And don’t forget pictures!

    Hi, I have just set up a blog for our family, leaving for the US in two weeks. So I thought I’d look through some of the wealth on this site and came across your site. What wonderful photography – hope you are proud of yourself. I travelled through south america for nearly a year in 1980 and a couple of years ago I downloaded quite a few snaps and a journal on the trip. This covered chile, argentina, Brazil and Boliva but I don’t think i got to put in the piece on Peru – maybe later. but there are some great snaps that my hubby took if you’d like to have a look – see Viva south america – original A. cheers and great travelling. You know after my trip I was still talking about it almost twenty years later – certainly a landmark on my life. best Joannie
