Mom Says I'm Running Away

March 4th, 2011:

Felicia and I love photography and although Felicia sometimes feels uncomfortable in front of the camera (especially if I test newly-acquired gear on her when she’s just stumbled out of bed), we feel it’s important to have quality photos taken quite regularly so we can look back some day when we’re old and wrinkly and say, “Damn, we were hot!”.

So, last year for our anniversary we had our friend and fellow photographer, Kevin Lee, take us out for an afternoon of vintage-y, travel-inspired fun at Los Angeles Union Station. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures at the trains that day, but we had a blast nonetheless.

We recently got the images back, and had to share a few of our favorites from our shoot. Thanks again Kevin, the photos are spectacular!

In case it appears that I might be so affluent and powerful that I shut down Union Station for our exclusive use, the photo above was the reality. Of course, we are soooooooo in love that we’re totally lost in our own world, so we may not have noticed the 216 random people milling around.

Quick Tips for your photo shoot:

• Make an effort to dress up. When you know you look good, you feel good, and it translates in your body language, and ultimately, your pictures.
• Have fun. Choose a theme and even bring props if you’d like.
• Be in love. Seriously! Genuinely enjoy spending time with your partner at the shoot, think happy thoughts, and the smiles will come naturally.
• Relax. Eventually you’ll pretend the photographer’s not even there, and just focus on having a good time.
