Oktoberfest 2011!
October 7th, 2011:
The wedding season is finally starting to slow down and although I am still editing like mad, who was I to say no when Felicia asked me a few weeks back if we could have an Oktoberfest party. So last Saturday – a rare Saturday when we aren’t working – we invited a world of friends over to the little courtyard in front of our small house to see if we could do our best to annoy the neighbors with some rambunctious drinking. While I think we failed at annoying the neighbors (seeing as the cops were never called on us), we did manage to fulfill the rambunctious part with friends in town from Singapore, Norway and all over southern California. Felicia even went all out and made personalized mugs, a feast fit for a German king, and decorated the whole house and yard in Oktoberfest colors. The beer was cold and the sausage hot, what more could I ask for?
I realized later when looking through the day’s pictures, that this is the only picture Felicia and I took together all day. A little crass, but I like it… yet I wonder how she will feel after I blog it?
Yes, my wife even went as far as to design buttons pronouncing “I Heart Sausage” and “got bier?” – She is totally adorable.
As the night wore on, my wife noticed my picture taking abilities slowly fading, along with my sobriety. My apologies.
Jessica and Matt (above and below on the left) actually just got done riding their BICYCLES across the country… yes, they are way more badass than me and my weak 500 mile ride up the coast a few years back.
And then, yes, our party degraded to few fleeting moments of frat boy debauchery (as demonstrated here by my brother-in-law) before the sprinklers came on at midnight and chased us off the front lawn. Good times.
